Stats

Primary Stats

PHY: Physique is how tough, healthy, and physically durable the character is. This stat is used to resist poisons, illnesses, and physical ailments. Physique also helps determine a characters ARM, Willpower, and the number of damage circles on their life spiral.

AGL: Agility is a measure of a character’s reflexes and nimbleness. This stat is used when a character makes a non-combat skill role involving coordination and reflexes. Agility also helps determine a character’s DEF and the number of damage circles in their life spiral.

INT: Intellect is a measure of the character’s wits, deduction, and the speed of their thoughts. This stat is used when the character tries to figure something out or use a skill that involves knowledge or problem solving. Intellect also helps determine a character’s Willpower and the number of damage circles on their life spiral.

Secondary Stats

PHY
SPD: Speed is how fast the character moves. It determines how far the character can go during their turn and is used to calculate DEF and Initiative

STR: Strength is a measure of the character’s physical strength. It is used to determine how much they can lift and is a major component of how much damage they do in melee combat.

AGL
POI: Poise reflects a character’s hand eye coordination and manual dexterity. It helps determine a character’s skill with ranged weapons.

PRW: Prowess is a measure of a character’s grace, balance, and control over their body. It helps determine a character’s skill with melee weapons and their Initiative.

INT
ARC: Arcane is a measure of the character’s magical power. Only characters with the Gifted Archetype have the Arcane stat.

PER: Perception is a measure of how astute the character is, their attention to detail, and their awareness. It is used in part to determine a character’s DEF and Initiative.

Derived Stats

DEF: Defense is how hard a character is to hit. SPD + AGL + Per = DEF

Initiative: This stat determines when a character can act in combat. SPD + PRW + PER = Initiative

ARM: Armor is how difficult it is to cause damage to a character. PHY + any equipment benefits = ARM

WIL: Willpower determines a character’s ability to resist fear and mind control magic. PHY + INT = WIL

MAT/RAT: Melee attack/ranged attack. This determines a character’s ability to hit with a given weapon. PRW/POI + skill modifier with relevant weapon + weapon’s attack modifier = MAT/RAT
